JEEPNEY PRESS: pasaHERO

Marita Castaneda: The Lady Enterpreneur
by Dennis Sun

Our pasaHero for this issue dreamt of becoming a lawyer and a flight attendant when she was still young. However, her siblings discouraged her from pursuing her dreams because they thought she was too soft spoken to be a lawyer and not beautiful enough to be a flight attendant. Thus, the life of Marita Castaneda began to unfold into something else. She was definitely not going to be an attorney. And neither would she be serving people in the planes. She decided that she would make her own business when she grow old and be her own boss. With that in mind, even as a little girl studying at the Angeles University Foundation in Angeles City, this kabalen was an enterpreneur-in-the-making.
